We’re just getting ready for America’s cutest family model search.  Sandy Puc, a Denver photographer, created this great model search contest, last year it was the cutest kid, this year its the cutest family.   This year’s contest winner gets a NEW CAR!    All proceeds of the contest benefit an organization that I am associated with, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, which is a charity that professional photographers volunteer for, and provide remembrance photography for infants that pass away during birth or shortly after birth.

Last year the contest raised 164,000 for the organization, which is incredible!   This year’s contest begins on January 4th and ends on April 4th.

Was extremely clear out today the day after 10″ of snow fell, so we went up to the mtns to take some photos.   Its just amazing how clear blue these skies are.  

Makes me think of Jon Chandler’s song Colorado Skies.

Today was our first annual Halloween Food Bank of the Rockies/Casa 17 charity drive/photo shoot.   We had about 60 kids/families take their photo with the Halloween harvest backdrop that we made up, everyone seemed to enjoy it, and they had a good time, and knowing that it will be an annual event that they will look forward to coming to.

We went to Rocky Mtn National Park today to beat the Denver 93 degree heat, and got some great photos of 30 bighorn sheep at Sheep Lake.   Also some real cute marmot’s were hanging out on Trail Ridge for us, usually they are so shy but these guys posed for us and let me take some good photos of them. 

It was 93 in Denver today, we got to 43 at the top of trail ridge, and it actually sleeted/snowed on us.

We had such a great time at the wedding of Stephanie and Jordan yesterday.  If it would have started 3 minutes earlier it would have been perfect but the little bit of rain didn’t damper anyone’s spirits.  Their favorite movie is Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare before Christmas” and that was their theme for the wedding!

Yesterday with the weather being so great, we hung out in the backyard and I took my 200-500mm lens with a 2x teleconverter and handheld it to take some photos of the birds in the back yard.
